Privacy policy
This policy describes how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit this website, send us a form, join the Mosaic network or create an account. It is written in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.
Controller. The data controller is MOSAIC ARGO, Cooperativa Integral, C.R.L., reachable at mosaicvillagecrew@gmail.com. For any privacy request you can use the same address.
Legal bases. We process personal data on the basis of (a) your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for the Mosaic network and anything you choose to make visible; (b) steps you ask us to take before a stay, an event or membership, and the agreement that follows (Art. 6(1)(b)), for applications, requests, bookings and accounts; and (c) our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in running a secure website and answering the messages we receive.

What data we use and why
Forms. When you send us a form (contact, visit, joining the crew, an event, the Land Trust pledge, the network, a partner project), we receive what you write in it: usually your name, email, sometimes a phone number, your answers, a photo if you add one, a place, and the gifts and needs you name. It reaches the crew by email and in Argo, the cooperative’s own internal app, where only crew members can read it. We use it to answer you, and to prepare your stay, event or membership.
The Mosaic network. If, and only if, you tick “put me on the Mosaic network”, your entry (name, photo, place, gifts and needs) is kept in Argo. Signed-in members see it only if you tick that box, and your name and photo appear publicly on the Network page only if you tick that one too. Your email and phone are never shown. You can ask us to change or remove your entry at any time.
Photos. A photo you upload is stored as an image file with a hard-to-guess address. Anyone who has that address can open it, so only upload a picture you are comfortable sharing in this way.
Account data. When you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password (managed by our authentication provider) and, optionally, a display name, avatar, roles, skills, location and the relationship you describe with the project.
Location data. A place you set by address search or by clicking on a map is stored as a place name and coordinates. We never read the GPS or IP location of your device. On the public Network page, places are shown rounded to about a kilometre.
Technical data. Our hosting provider processes the IP address and standard browser headers of each request for the time strictly necessary to serve the page and to detect abuse. We do not build behavioural profiles, and we use no analytics or advertising trackers.
Who helps us run this. The site is hosted by Lovable; its database and sign-in run on Supabase. Emails from the forms are delivered by Resend to the crew inbox (Gmail). Booking requests also notify the crew in a private Telegram group. Maps and address search use OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when a map loads. The film on the homepage is played from YouTube, which is contacted only when you press play. The map on the Land Trust page is embedded from Land Atlas. Some of these providers are based outside the EU, for example in the United States; there, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer under the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Nothing is sold to anyone.
Retention. Forms and messages are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and, if you come or join, for as long as you are involved with the project. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists; when you delete it, we delete the associated profile, skills and location within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to keep. You can ask us to delete anything sooner.

Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- request rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- request erasure of your data (Art. 17);
- request restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing (Art. 7(3));
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77); in Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).

By using this website you agree to use it in good faith and in a way that does not harm the project, its members or other users. You agree not to upload illegal, harmful, defamatory or infringing content, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or any account, and not to misuse the platform for unsolicited commercial communication.
All editorial content, photographs and graphic identity on this site remain the property of their respective authors and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without written permission.
