Nomadic living

Nomadic Camp

A house held between several people who come and go, a base here rather than a permanent address.

A house you share, and come back to

Not everyone who belongs here wants to be here all year. People whose work moves them, who winter somewhere else, who need a base rather than a permanent address, a village that only accepts the fully settled would lose most of them, and they are often the ones carrying the widest connections back into it.

So a house can be secured by several nomads together. You apply as a group, or apply alone and we introduce you to the others; you hold the spot between you, split the contribution, and agree the months each of you is here. The house stays lived in rather than shuttered half the year, which is better for the house and better for the village.

The one thing it does not carry is governance. Co-leading the village belongs to the people who are here for the long term and doing the work of it, a shared house is a way of belonging, not a shortcut to deciding.
