The vision of a village
Twenty hectares of Alentejano hills, and a group of people learning to live, work and decide together. There are three ways to arrive, and none of them ask you to know yet.
Mosaic is a piece of land in the south of Portugal and the people slowly making a life on it. Lakes, cork oaks, gardens mid-growth, a kitchen that is rarely empty. What holds it together is less a programme than a habit: paying attention to the land, and to each other, out loud.
Some people come for a few days, some settle in for a season, some are here for the long horizon. You don't have to know which one you are before you arrive.

They differ by how long you stay. The longer you're here, the more of everyday life you share rather than pay for, and the more the place asks of you in return.

For anyone curious, with nothing yet decided.
You come and feel the place: shared meals, a walk through the land, whoever happens to be here. It asks for a few days and an open evening or two.

For people rooted in their own work who want to live at a slower rhythm.
Your days and your income stay entirely yours. In exchange you help care for the home you're living in, and show up for the two weekly gatherings.

The longer horizon
What the land is becoming
Everything below is for the curious and the patient: where the project stands today, and the questions people ask once they start imagining a life here rather than a stay.
The land already holds the legal potential for a village to emerge. Over the past years, much of the invisible groundwork has been laid: the water landscape has been established, the lakes are functioning, the pathways are in place, shared infrastructure is operational, ecological restoration and plantations have begun, and areas for food production have been prepared.
What remains is not the creation of a dream, but the embodiment of a possibility that is already taking shape. We are now looking for pioneers, entrepreneurs, stewards, mentors, and impact investors who feel called to help transform this foundation into a thriving living reality.
